The concept concerning valor often paints a picture of selfless heroism. A soldier charging into battle regardless of personal danger, here a fireman rushing toward a blazing inferno to save lives - these are the archetypal examples that come to mind. Yet, one must consider a darker side to this lauded image: the potential for selfishness inherent
